Welcome to the A BIT OF A CHARACTER about page. Here I’ll hopefully be able to answer any questions you might have
about the blog; how it works, what it’s all about, and how it came about.

So, what is A BIT OF A CHARACTER all about?
A Bit of a Character is a UK based
blog that talks about all things character based, from illustrations, products,
prints, graphics and beyond. I love to seek out new things that inspire me, but
more than that I love to share, so here I am! Whether you’re looking for inspiration for your own project, or something to
lighten up your day I hope you’ll find something here that brings a smile to
your face.
What happens here?
If you follow the blog you’ll notice
that the normal routine consists of two posts a day, sometimes more, sometimes
less. Each posts looks to showcase the latest trends, designers, illustrators,
or shops and their designs. If you like what you see you can click on
anything in YELLOW to follow a link find out more. It’s a very visual place and
you’ll rarely see a post without pictures, as there’s no better way to share a design than with beautiful pictures of it!
How did it come about?
A Bit of a Character materialised primarily because of my love of characters. I work as a graphic designer and am
forever stumbling across amazing designs, and it’s just nice to share these
finds in one place. Moreover it started becoming apparent to me when I went
freelance, that finding designers who can design characters, or inspiration for
new character ranges was like finding the Holy Grail. Hopefully with some
inspiration from these posts that problem will start to level itself out.
Can I get involved?
Yes! In lots of ways:
I’m always looking for new
designers, or new collections from old designers! If you think you have
something to share, then please send an email to: abitofacharacter@gmail.com.
All I ask is that your pictures are high res, and in keeping with the blog.
Images should be sent as a jpeg or png, no
smaller than 600 pixels wide. Please remember to attach your vital stats,
website, Facebook page, Etsy shop etc, and a little bit about yourself. I get a
surprising amount of emails, and it takes me a while to nosey through them all,
so don’t panic if you don’t hear from me straight away.
I also love collaborations; so if you have
something to say and want to share it here, please get in touch, bear in mind
my earlier statement - that this is a very visual place, so lots of pictures as
well as words please!
